At midnight it empties, and by morning it belongs to whoever moved.

The Rules
-
One
Walk it or run it
Your phone is already counting. The school run, the dog at six, the long way home. A kilometre is a kilometre, and not one of them asks how fast you went.
-
Two
Raise a team
Run alone if you like: one pair of legs takes a border landmark in a day. To go inland you want a team, up to ten and no more. Ten friends can hold a county. Ten thousand strangers cannot.
-
Three
Claim the landmark
Step inside a landmark and its clock starts. Now cover its price before this time tomorrow: 10 kilometres out at the border, 100 at the heart of a county.

Top the board
The board is not a ranking, it is a distance: the metres between you and the name above yours, redrawn every time either of you goes outside.
-
FiveClaim a House
Hold more than half a county and its House is yours. Take Cluj, and ten of you ride as the House of Cluj with your name on the map where everyone can see it.
-
Chapter I
Land of Dracula
România opens first. Forty two counties, 4.418 landmarks, one crown each and one High Seat above them all. You already know this ground. You run on it.
Challenge a House
Name a House and start the clock. Twenty four hours later the one that covered more takes the duel, and every other House can read the result.
The Ranks
Your face carries your standing. Swearing the oath earns the first one; the rest are taken by moving, or by bringing someone who does.
